Omaze is an online fundraising platform that offers campaigns and merchandise in support of charitable causes. It was founded in July 2012 by Ryan Cummins and Matthew Pohlson. It is based in Los Angeles, California and is privately owned. Over the years, it has raised over $60 million for over 200 charities, including UNICEF, After-School All-Stars, Julia’s House, Product Red, and Make-A-Wish Foundation. They work with the globally recognized Charities Aid Foundation America (CAFA), which validates and facilitates giving to charities around the world. CAFA first receives the donations, and they make a grant to the designated cause for each experience. This ensures that funds are securely and efficiently delivered to the causes, both internationally and domestically. Omaze offers dream-come-true experiences online that anyone has the chance to win.
Experiences
Omaze typically launch campaigns in which they offer an experience with a promotional video endorsed by a celebrity or a grand prize. The grand prize can be won by anyone who enters with a $10 donation. They also offer T-shirts and autographed merchandise for sale, which counts as additional entries for the grand prize.
